I got teary-eyed when the creature's indictment was announced. All the opinions from both sides continually warned that nothing substantial might occur despite the hearings, and that was disheartening. During my long life I suffered through Watergate and many senseless military conflicts, but nothing to compare with this real threat to our democracy. (And I'm not making light of the lives lost during any of the wars.)
During the coverage of the January 6th insurrection, I was out on my porch screaming, "That's MY house!" I was very personal to me.
(My lawyers convinced the judge that I was just being passionate about my feelings, so my cell was not padded.)
May all go in favor of our fragile Democracy. We never dreamed it was this fragile, did we?
