is amazing! Because of the ICE stormtroopers arresting thousands of immigrants, many at work, with no thought or plan of what would happen to their children, local townspeople stepped in to care for the children, and local businesses provided for food and other necessities.
Children were left stranded at daycare, with babysitters, or waiting for a parent to pick them up from school. Their parents were not committing crimes or loitering on the streets looking for trouble. Most of them were working for employers who were glad to hire these folks for less than it would cost them to hire American citizens. They paid bills, raised families, and probably sent money home for poor relatives.
Many talking heads have declared that this is not who we are. I agree with others who say, this IS who we are. Shamefully so.
