It appears as if all Republican lawmakers got identical memos telling them to respond to questions about gun control with one or more of the following: "This is not the right time. Give the victims time to heal. This is not the time to politicize gun control. No change in gun control laws could have changed the outcome of this situation. Etc. etc."
Since 1966, America had 11 mass shootings ranging from 13 victims to 49, with 2 of the incidents involving children. (Now the figures are from 13 to 59 victims, with many, many young people killed.) As of now, 7 incidents have occurred since 2009.
It would be impossible to list the number of shooting deaths or injuries involving "just one or two people." Gabby Gifford comes to mind, however.
So, could someone please tell me when it IS the right time to address gun control and make meaningful changes to the existing laws?
Personally, I thought that when we let the 2nd Amendment take precedence over our elementary children, the right time would never come.
