Unfortunately, due to complete power outages, we can't know what aid Puerto Rico is or has been getting from the Mainland. According to Rumplesthinskin, he said at least once that he can't send aid now because it would disrupt the first responders' work. This hasn't seemed to bother him in the past despite pleas from the local authorities that he postpone his visits to areas impacted by storms, etc.
It was interesting, but not surprising, that his latest comments on Puerto Rico included several references to his getting great feedback on his aid efforts to Texas and Florida. (An A+ !!) (Puerto Rico is nearly destroyed, and he had to make part of his announcements about himself.) He also said these two states were "doing fine." Most of us know someone who suffered through the hurricanes, and although their courage and determination are commendable, I'm not sure would describe their situation as "fine."

I was wrong about aid not being sent now. Actually, he said he couldn't visit now because it would disrupt the work of the first responders.
My bad.

44.1 has no soul or compassion for anyone but himself. In talking about aid to Puerto Rico, he felt compelled to bring up the territory's indebtedness. Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory and its residents are U.S. citizens. They deserve the same help as folks in Texas and Florida. Tossing out the territory's indebtedness was both unnecessary and inappropriate.
