States she will retire at the end of her 10 year interminable term from what I loosely call her "service to Kansans." She claims to have "served" "nearly" 270,000 Kansans. I claim that she didn't reach 270,000 because of wise Democrats and other intelligent folks who've refused to acknowledge her representation.

I look forward to saving tons of money on Rolaids, Maalox, Imodium, Pepto Bismol, and other remedies for intestinal distress, when she retires. (The dosages would have been doubled had she decided to stay and run for Governor!)

Bon debarras, as we say in Leavenworth.

She seems to be pretty popular in her district, that includes liberal Lawrence, as she has won her reelection bids by large margins.

I appreciate your reply, Boulder.

However, I consider her a part of the regime that put Kansas in dire economic straits and the butt of jokes nation wide. I hadn't heard that Lawrence supported her. Several members of my family live in Topeka, and they have never been her fan. They associate her with the likes of the Governor, Jerry Moran, and others. If you've read "What's the Matter With Kansas?" you would know that many Kansans have a several year record of voting for those who have done them the most harm

What I remember most vividly is how she came to Fort Leavenworth and spoke vehemently against any prisoners from Guantanamo Bay being transferred to the facility. It was a low blow to those who are very proud of their record for keeping the community safe, only to have her insinuate that the whole area would be endangered by housing those prisoners. When few other areas wanted any part of them, Fort Leavenworth volunteered to have them because they were confident the community would continue to be protected from the bad guys. Through fear and false statements, she prevailed.
