and when any inmate begins to show signs of sanity or lack of fealty, he/she is summarily discharged.

To paraphrase a guest's comment on MSNBC, history will not look kindly upon this administration.

I do not look kindly upon it (IT) now.

Who cares how history will look upon President Trump? It doesn't really matter. Americans don't want any unfavorable history. Don't like the Confederate period in America? Destroy it. Don't learn from the mistakes---wipe them away and sweep them under the rug.

Actually a LOT of people care about history. History DOES matter. It's the primary way we, in fact, learn from our mistakes and hopefully it helps us not to make the same mistakes again.

It is no secret that history books weren't always factual, but as a former teacher I can assure you that they have become more truthful, and the trend continues. As the old saying goes, "truth will out."

I don't understand what you mean by destroying the Confederate period in America. Are you saying that statues and flags should be prominently displayed as a tribute to those who fought FOR slavery rather than be placed in a less conspicuous setting as a memorial to an historical event? What do you think the Confederate flag stands for, anyway? I don't think we can look upon the Confederacy as a noble cause.
