Barbara Lee's amendment to end the authorization for use of military force, which she had brought before House committees every year since 2001, was unanimously approved today!
There still is a long way to go, but it is heartening to see bipartisanship at work, and for such a worthy cause. I think of how many lives could have been saved if her efforts had been successful in the beginning. Our military men and women have paid a heavy price through the years because of the AUMF bill which was passed with barely two hours of debate.
Thank you, Barbara Lee and those who worked with her, for never giving up.
