There is no substance to the claim of similar secrecy when the Democrats were working on the ACA. According to Snopes re aca versus ahca, the ACA was debated in 3 House committees and 2 Senate committees. Hours of bipartisan debate were held allowing for the introduction of amendments, and the bill was debated by the Senate 25 straight hours before it was passed.
The secrecy of the way this bill is being formed by the so-called president and "his" party is a first in American political history. Sneakiness, secrecy, alternative facts, and false news may be how this administration is characterized in years to come. Nixon and his cronies were amateurs in comparison, IMHO.
