for not buying into the negativity and voting for the person who would serve their country with honor. It was scary to think their election could have produced a creature eerily similar to ours.
BTW, I never bought into W's propaganda about the French being cowards because they wouldn't join him in the war against Iraq. What a shame that Americans (Republicans, especially) still denigrate the French people.

Yes! The French have stood up against the politics of hate and fear. In doing so, they have thumbed their noses at Dolt 45 and his supporters. The Trumpeteers will not doubt try to take us back to the days of "Freedom Fries." Kudos to the French.

Bravo, Doc! (And by the way, I like your newest term, "The Trumpeteers." with apologies to those of us who may have used that term honorably.)

"When you open your heart to patriotism, there is no room for prejudice." President Trump
Their election was never in doubt. Our President had nothing to do with the election of the moderate they chose.
I don't know any Americans who denigrate the French people. What a strange thing for you to say. I'm sure that you have multiple sources you could cite of evil Republicans spouting hateful words towards certain French people. I am an American Republican and I think they are wonderful people and I love to listen to someone speaking French. It's beautiful.

You can't possibly know that their "election was never in doubt." Russian influence probably was as prevalent as it has been in other country's elections, but as I stated, the French refused to yield to it. (BTW, I never said the creature had anything to with the election results.)
What a strange thing for me to say? I thought you were a dedicated G. W. Bush supporter. Do you not remember his propaganda regarding the French for not joining him in the Iraq war? Do you not remember the term coined by his supporter, "Freedom Fries?" Was this one of the areas in which you did not follow Bush? How strange that you either blocked this out or you weren't as enamored of W. as you seemed to be.

I guess you are correct. The pollsters projected him to win big. But then again, the pollsters didn't do so well in our election, now did they? American refused to cave to Russian influence here also. Thank goodness our president was elected instead of the corrupt and lying Hillary Clinton. Whew.
Of course I remember Freedom Fries and how mad many Americans were at France at the time. I must have misunderstood your post as I didn't realize you were talking about an over 15 year old event....I thought you were talking the present tense when you said "still". My mistake.

No, it looks like I was right all along, you did say "still".
