Everyone knows I don't care for it when it comes to our Presidents or elected officials. Whether it was Obozo or ObaMao or Shillary or all the many others they just seemed petty and for the most part lacking in imagination. For reasons I won't go into, I really find the Germanic Nazi inferences offensive, but to each their own.
But I have to admit. I saw Trumplethinskin and I literally burst out laughing. That one was good

I'm not a big fan of the practice, either, but find the current President to be worthy of exception to personal policy. Even Bush43, whom most here will recall I thoroughly despise, never got anything more derisive from me than "W" or "Dubya".
I must admit that I, too smile at Trumplethinskin.
It has surpassed my previous fave of Twitler (which appeals to me with both its obvious connections.) That's saying a lot, given my predominantly German (3/4) family heritage.* Mom never spoke much of her youth as a 1st Gen American-born girl of 100% Deutsche ancestry during WWII, but I do know that Adolph was not popular in her extended family. I also know that she would readily see the similarities all too easily. To say that my Mom would not be happy if she were still with us today would be my personal understatement of the decade.
*Of course, The Brothers Grimm were Deutsche, too, so there is still that connection.

I wish the name originated with me, but it actually was passed on to me by my daughter, who said it was "going around" on Facebook.
It made me laugh, too, but Doc's "DerGropenfuhrer" really cracked me up. As HawkErrant pointed out below, it shows the similarities all too easily.

all the Germanic/Nazi references. While I can see where everyone is coming from, the context disgusts me beyond my ability to describe.
I get the dislike for the person, but I feel the name calling also shows disrespect for the office and is wrong. But we all see things differently so that is why I don't bring it up nearly as much as I would otherwise.
I was just trying to say that I found Trumplethinskin funny

I understand where you are coming from, Kong. Until this election, I have had respect for the Office no matter who won. Even with Bush's second term, especially, I still believed in honoring the Office itself, even though I had zero respect for him.
In this case, I believe the creature who won the election has shown complete disrespect for the Office, caring only about his own wishes and making the presidency laughable, if one had a sense of humor bordering on hysteria.
I make no apologies for my thoughts and feelings about this issue.

I agree that this President has shown a very low level of respect for the Office and I find him to be a pretty disgusting individual in general. I guess I can't bring myself to disrespect the Office the way he has and therefore, I don't want to stoop down to his level of disgust.
And believe me, nobody is asking for you or anyone else to apologize for their thoughts or feelings on this.
Just voicing my thoughts here as well.

With all due respect, Kong, it would take the average bear, and I am in that category, over 50 years of cheating, intimidating, illegal behavior plus a supremely arrogant, me-first mentality before coming close to his behavior. Lack of respect for the current office of the President isn't even in the running.

I find it difficult to respect the office when it is occupied by a man who, himself, has openly shown disrespect for the office.
