A couple of days after news broke about the creature insulting the prime minister of Australia and the President of Mexico, plus similar confrontational remarks to/about Iran, he spoke to an audience of, uh, I'm not sure if consisted of supporters or just a TV audience in general. He said not to worry about his tough, confrontational calls. He said "we" needed to be tough for a change.
Okay. I'll try not to worry about his alienating our allies and possibly causing a war. There is another proclamation, though, that causes me deep concern, and that is his statement of wanting to destroy the Johnson Amendment. I cannot imagine a government without separation of church and state. If he fulfills that promise, what is to keep public schools from bringing their political beliefs into the classroom? Or, why wouldn't those schools be able to preach the Gospel to students?
I foresee far-reaching problems in other settings.
Any comments?
