www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-politic...our-money-questions/
From the Washington Post article:
Trump is required under federal law to reimburse his companies, since candidates cannot accept corporate contributions. Critics have noted that he is not required to hold events at Trump properties, however.

For the record refusing to live in the White House is one of the most asinine things any President could do. I find it particularly offensive, but really didn't expect much out of him.
But what I want to know is this. Since the left was so at ease with all the excess spending that Obama did, why do you care what excess spending this clown does? It seems to me that it should be fine by you. It seems that at best, all the left can say is that he is just as bad as your favored son was. Not really a high moral ground to stand on.
Sort of like complaining about Bush taking vacations at his ranch and then defending Obama playing golf or flying his wife separately to Europe. Both sides suck at this and constantly trying to make your side look good and their side look bad is absurd. Trump is an idiot, but he is our President Elect. I would be saying the same about Hillary.
I am guessing this is just another stage of grief. Denial, anger, depression... pretty soon we will be into bargaining though I doubt we will ever see acceptance. We certainly didn't see acceptance from the right with Obama, so I hold no hopes of seeing it from the left either

Do you really want to compare the extent of spending on Presidential vacations and travel? OK, let's do that!., Bush took 879 vacation days; Obama has yet to break 200. "Vacationer-in-Chief" Bush made 77 (yes, SEVENTY-SEVEN!) trips to his ranch in Crawford. Obama takes his family to Hawaii once a year. He has flown his family to Europe. It should be pointed out that President's pay for their family's travel out of their own pocket. Only a dunce would believe Bush's travel expenses are less than Obama's. The left doesn't complain about Obama's vacations because they pale in comparison to Dubya's in terms of expense and duration. Incidentally, Saint Raygun spend 335 days of his presidency at his Santa Barbara ranch.
The taxpayers will have to foot the bill for the government basically recreating the White House in Trump Tower. Estimates are that this will cost $1 million per day; that's $365 million per year and over $1 billion for the 4 years of a Drumpf presidency. Yes, I'm going to complain about this as being excessive and unnecessary. Again, Obama's expenses are miniscule compared to this nonsense.
I'll end this with once last point. There seems to be little correlation between the number of a President's vacation days and their legacy: Jimmy Carter only took 79 days off.

It seems more than a little hypocritical for the right to ignore Trump and the outrageous amount of money that will be spent because his porn star wife and son don't want to live in the White House. Now Trump expects the government to pay him millions of dollars to RENT 2 floors in Trump tower in order to watch them?
You are right about not coming together. Trump is not my president and never will be. He doesn't represent ANYTHING that I believe in. He is a disgrace to this country, to democracy, to the millions of people that fought and/or died protecting American beliefs and the rights of people.
One more thing..he should be on trial for treason. He's been in bed with Putin the entire time.

The Obamas would never stay in DC so one of their children could finish school. The Trumps should follow their example.
