After 8 years of whining and crying about Obama's trips to Hawaii, now we have a First Lady and son that refuse to live in the White House? Just how much money is it going to cost to have security for the porn star and her son? Another round of republican hypocrisy!

I don't know if it's true but I heard that he wants to use his plane and have US pay for it. The amount of corruption and evil this man brings is mindboggling!

That $400,000 will only cover about 10 hours of security for Trump Tower. The taxpayers will be picking up the tab for the Secret Service detail being garrisoned at Trump Tower. Therefore, those tax dollars will go directly into the pocket of ....ta da....Don the Con. What a scam. Wasn't it you who was bitching about the cost of Obama taking his wife to the theater in NYC for an evening out?

Are you saying that Trump will charge the Secret Service rent, like Biden does in Delaware? Do you know for a fact that Trump will be charging rent for their protection?

I do not know this for a fact, so we'll have to wait and see. However, this is the same Don the Con who charged his campaign for the use of his plan, lodging for staffers at Trump properties and other things to fatten his wallet. You Trump voters have been CONNED!

Why shouldn't the campaign pay for campaign expenses? I could be incorrect, but I don't think he accepted any public financing, and much of the money was from his own pocket, so why is it a concern of yours?

Yes, I am anticipating that Don the Con will find a way to line his own pockets through this Trump Tower/WH fiasco. This is a man who used funds from his "charity" to buy a 6 foot tall portrait of himself.

Do you really want to compare the extent of spending on Presidential vacations and travel? OK, let's do that!., Bush took 879 vacation days; Obama has yet to break 200. "Vacationer-in-Chief" Bush made 77 (yes, SEVENTY-SEVEN!) trips to his ranch in Crawford. Obama takes his family to Hawaii once a year. He has flown his family to Europe. It should be pointed out that President's pay for their family's travel out of their own pocket. Only a dunce would believe Bush's travel expenses are less than Obama's. The left doesn't complain about Obama's vacations because they pale in comparison to Dubya's in terms of expense and duration. Incidentally, Saint Raygun spend 335 days of his presidency at his Santa Barbara ranch.

The taxpayers will have to foot the bill for the government basically recreating the White House in Trump Tower. Estimates are that this will cost $1 million per day; that's $365 million per year and over $1 billion for the 4 years of a Drumpf presidency. Yes, I'm going to complain about this as being excessive and unnecessary. Again, Obama's expenses are miniscule compared to this nonsense.

I'll end this with once last point. There seems to be little correlation between the number of a President's vacation days and their legacy: Jimmy Carter only took 79 days off.

You need to get your facts right. No one on the left or the right `complained about Bush's vacation days and costs until the bitching about Obama by the right began. He was criticized instantly for every single trip he took. How dare they go to Hawaii...that's not in our country? Texas was a work vacation...cutting brush is a presidential job? Again, no complaints until the attacks on Obama.
It seems more than a little hypocritical for the right to ignore Trump and the outrageous amount of money that will be spent because his porn star wife and son don't want to live in the White House. Now Trump expects the government to pay him millions of dollars to RENT 2 floors in Trump tower in order to watch them?

You are right about not coming together. Trump is not my president and never will be. He doesn't represent ANYTHING that I believe in. He is a disgrace to this country, to democracy, to the millions of people that fought and/or died protecting American beliefs and the rights of people.
One more thing..he should be on trial for treason. He's been in bed with Putin the entire time.

And to top it all off the President elect and First Lady are putting their small child first. Goodness! Who does that? They should make him stay behind by himself in NYC and finish the school year on his own!

The Obamas would never stay in DC so one of their children could finish school. The Trumps should follow their example.

President elect Trump isn't refusing to live in the WH. He will move there in 01-17. His wife and small son will stay in NYC until Barron finishes the school year. A lot of parents, including my own, do the same thing for their children, let them finish the year instead of transferring in the middle of the year. I'm not sure why this is so outrageous to "some".

This "some" thinks he's a worthless, self-centered, racist, bigoted, misogynistic, lying, cheating, traitor, that doesn't give a rat's ass about his son, his current wife, his country or anything that doesn't pad his bank account or praise him. But it sure hasn't taken long for "some" to support a man that was referred to as awful. Standards....something you might try sometime.
