The governor of Louisiana was on camera stating that President Obama was welcome at any time, but the state has received everything they presently need from him, from immediate financial aid, FEMA's constant presence, and daily communication from/with White House officials; therefore, the President's visiting the state now, although welcome at any time, as he said, would detract from the rescue and other significant operations due to the logistics, costs, and freeing up Highway Patrol, etc., regarding security. There have been residents who've expressed disappointment that he has not visited, but the governor stressed the importance of attending to priorities at the present time.

(And guess who showed up for photo ops?)

And that is exactly why President Bush and Laura did not visit New Orleans until four days after Hurricane Katrina. They were doing the right thing! They said at the time it was because of "the logistical challenges and drain on personnel that such a visit would entail.” The Left and the Media (sorry for repeating myself there), were merciless to the President for flying over right away to view the damage. But we all know he got blamed for the ineptness of the Democratic leadership in Louisiana at the time. Oh well.....gotta love the hypocrites who live in glass houses. :(

I think it would be nice if President Obama could stop on the 9th hole and talk to people of Louisiana through a video message. Nah, I'm asking way too much for him to really do the right thing. He's not running for office any longer.
