It was a close vote, but in my opinion the Supreme Court did the right thing, and I'm very grateful on behalf of my grandchildren and future generations, not to mention every woman in America.
When Donald Trump says, if Roe vs Wade is repealed, women probably should be punished for having abortions, it scares me. (One might say that the man gives me the shakes, sort of like DT's!)

I concur, Murph. This is an important victory for women and their right to control their own reproduction. I find it disturbing that we are still having to fight for reproductive rights for women over 40 years after Roe v. Wade. I suspect this isn't the last battle.

You're correct, Doc. This won't be the last battle. Ever since the moral majority (which is neither) reared its ugly head, was defeated, and then came pouring out of the woodwork in the guise of the teapartiers, laws which have granted voting rights, gender equality, and abortion rights, especially, are in danger of being repealed. (If repealing them doesn't work, loopholes are created by citing religious objections.)
I don't remember any other party refusing to acknowledge the Supreme Court as the final authority. What's the use of having SCOTUS if its rulings are constantly challenged? AAARGH!

Just as important as this was to women's rights, it's also a HUGEEEEE (for Trump) victory against letting states pass these bs laws. Trying to go around a federal law the way TX and Kansas has done is crap. Prohibiting someone a legal right by making it almost impossible to access is wrong. Time for the fools from TX and KS to crawl back into their caves and leave the rest of us alone.
BTW just where are all the conservative, right wing do gooders on this board?

They have been quiet for some time now. I wonder if they are embarrassed about the presumed GOP nominee.
