Drat. I had a must do chore and missed the pre-game ceremonies. I absolutely get so emotional hearing the cadet choir sing the national anthem——without all the “note searching (up and down the scale)”as performed by pop singers generally.

We are a Navy family. Dad was at Omaha Beach on D-Day. NOT an academy grad....just a sailor; enlisted in WW II. My dream is to go to Omaha Beach, someday.

Regardless of which team wins, there is a very moving ceremony after the game. I believe the winning team sings their Alma Mater first, then they traipse over to the “non-winner’s” side for their Alma mater. So so moving; brothers in arms.

Just a softy today.......

Be safe, cadets!

Wheaty, the Flying Jayhawks offer group tours to Normandy almost every year. The one for summer 2019 filled up so fast it was sold out and triple wait listed for 2019's 75th Anniversary ("Celtic Lands") by the time we tried to book it in the first week it was open for booking. Tegan Thornberry (Director of Membership and Business Development, This email address is being protected from spambots. Good evening, HE.

Thank you for the suggestion. I never thought of flying Jayhawks.

I’ll watch for it. Don’t know how I missed seeing that they offer a trip. I look at their trip info.....just in case something catches my eye!
