I'm surprised, but happy, the MLB commissioner upheld Rose's ban. I was worried that after he was allowed to work for Fox in the playoffs that he would be reinstated.

I've yet to visit the MLB Hall of Fame, and I really want to go. But if Rose had been allowed in, I would never go. JMO.

I am right there with you. I thought it was going to get reversed this time. There are a lot of people who are on the other side of this issue and I thought given his work with Fox and the short term memory of many, he would be allowed in.

I've never been a Pete Rose fan, so it's no skin off my nose that he's still persona non grata. If they EVER move to reinstate him, they damn well better reinstate Shoeless Joe Jackson first! THAT is a travesty that should be corrected.

Yeah, I saw the bit about Manfred's wishy-washy stance in that regard, i.e., creating separation between having existing ties (job, whatever) with MLB and his status for the HoF.

If that is the official position MLB is going to take with Rose, then Manfred needs to say the same about allowing Shoeless Joe to be considered for the HoF as well. Veterans Committee, do your thing.

Interesting, but sheesh he takes a long time to explain the headline.
