KU picked up a major commitment from 4* DB Damani Maxson, and added a 3* OL in Kene Anene.
Per Rivals.com, Maxson ties recently committed cornerback Jalen Todd as the highest-rated player in the Jayhawks’ 2024 class.

How important is winning for recruiting well?
Rivals does their team recruiting ranking on a points system, the more points the better.
Take a look at KU's total team points for our 2022, 2023 and 2024 to date recruiting classes...
Clearly winning in Fall 2022, and being projected to continue to improve for 2023, makes a huge difference to the HS kids.
But despite what Lombardi once said, winning isn't the *only* thing.
Lance Leipold is clearly a difference maker.
I sure hope KANSAS can keep him for a LOOOOONNNNGGGG time.

2022 * 510 on 12 commitments (average 42.5 points each)
2023 73 1005 on 14 commitments (average 71.8 points each)
2024 41 795 on 12 commitments so far & counting (average 61.2 points each so far)
and the first two Rivals HS 4* in Lance Leipold's tenure IIRC.
