Despite the outcome, a fun game to watch. While KU did get out to a warmer start then the last couple of games, ISU was tough. KU had a few miscues/mistakes on both sides of the ball, couldn't get key stops, and couldn't control the ball at a couple of crucial junctures.
QB/Carter Stanley (Grade: A) – 328 yards, 3 TD's, and zero (0) interceptions. Great stats, some amazing plays, but some questionable passes and a couple of miscues.
RB's (Grade: A) – Pooka was back to being Pooka with 154 yards rushing. Some big/explosive runs. A few others made some minor contributions.
WR's/TE's (Grade: A) – Good games from Parchment, Robison, Lassiter, and Charlot. Pooka had some receptions and a rec. TD, as well.
Offensive Line (Grade: "B") – Two (2) sacks and six (6) QB hurries. I'm bumping up the grade a little based on the level of the offensive production.
Defense (Grade C+) – ISU had great offensive production and was able to control the field. One interception, zero sacks and a couple of quarterback hurries.
Special Teams/Kicking (Grade A-) – Jones was 3/4 on field goals. No punts or kick offs returned for touchdowns by opponents. A couple long returns.
Coaches (Grade: "B+")- KU had the lead at a little under 11 minutes left in the fourth quarter. The Jayhawks had ISU on its heels for most of the game in what was supposed to be a blow out.
Next – Baylor/Senior Day.
