"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime." - Mark Twain "Innocents Abroad"
Kansas FB recruit Luke Grimm after watching the game in Booth Memorial. Same sentiments echoed by the other six recruits John Kirby (JayhawkSlant) interviewed after the game.
Great come from behind win by a team that adjusted on O when Pooka was keyed on all game and finally got the needed stops from the D in the last quarter (already depleted to start and then playing almost all game without team captain Bryce Torneden, ejected early on a technically correct but frankly incidental helmet contact targeting call) to give the O the chance to catch up.
Got to improve the kick blocking on ST, almost cost KU the game. Multiple attempts blocked by TT, and only the KU recovery of the fumble of the blocked last second FG attempt prevented the game going to OT. Big mistake by the TT player, who had the ball knocked away as he tried to make a play instead of just falling to the ground to take the game to OT.
Finally, for once the breaks went KU’s way late in a game.
First Big 12 win for Les Miles, and the second straight heroic display of the Dearmon offense. KU 3-5, 1-4 Big 12 in year 1. So far this first year is shaping up to be exactly what we had hoped for — the beginning of the resurrection of KU football! Keep moving forward, Jayhawks!
Never give up!
Never surrender!
Declaw the kitties in Booth Memorial next!

“With kindest regards to Dr. Forrest C. Allen, the father of basketball coaching, from the father of the game.”
1936 inscription on the portrait of Dr. Naismith, displayed above Phog Allen's office desk at KU.
