Coach Miles said in the press conference after the game that everyone was in pain. The game was painful to watch. On a positive note, Pooka is back. Although there are some serious questions for KU to answer, Coastal Carolina played tough D and moved the ball a little better on offense (kicking was ridiculous) and took it to the Jayhawks.
QB/Carter Stanley (Grade: C- ) - Bad, but maybe not 100% Stanley's fault. 107 yards, two (2) interceptions, one fumble, and no touchdowns.
RB's (Grade: B+ ) - Pooka! Pooka, Herbert and Dom Williams combined for 185 yards and a touchdown. Overall rushing yards was 173 due to -12 yards from Stanley.
WR's/TE's (Grade: C+) - 107 yards combined with Stephon Robinson Jr. leading receivers with 45 yards. Can't blame the low totals on the receivers, more because of play calling and poor passing.
Offensive Line (Grade: B-) - Only two sacks and 0 QB Hurries, but the O-Line didn't open up holes for the running game. Needs to improve.
Defense (Grade B+) - It felt like they had to work hard just to keep the game close due to the lack of offense and offensive game management. Gave up a crucial rushing touchdown that gave Coastal Carolina the lead.
Coaches (Grade: C-) - Some may feel this is generous. Questionable play calling and the two timeouts bookending the Coastal Carolina timeout in the fourth quarter was perplexing. It just didn't seem like KU adjusted or had any solutions to Coastal Carolina's D.
