BTW, per Rivals.com, this class (at least as of today) ranks 7th overall in the Big 12. That's a big step up from last year's last place.

FOOTBALL SIGNING PERIOD DATES
Midyear & JC Transfer: December 14, 2016 thru January 15, 2017
Regular Period: February 1, 2017 thru April 1, 2017
FEBRUARY 1 (tomorrow as I write this) is National Signing Day, the first day of the Spring signing period.
Of the 20 new KU faces expected to be on board as of this writing, 8 signees are already enrolled for Spring 2017 and are getting their jump starts in Spring football in preparation for Fall 2017.
Here are the 20 known commitments as of today (2017-01031). They are grouped into December and February signees, and in alphabetical order within their respective group.
The discerning reader will observe that Darreon Jackson is not on this list. HC David Beaty has withdrawn the scholarship offer to the Kansas native who had originally played for Boise State.
There were other talented players that KU pursued who chose to go elsewhere. This happens all the time, even with the best programs. Still, it will be nice when KU starts to land some of those guys. In an article today Tom Keegan wrote --
"...it will take climbing out of last place in the big 12 to make a significant move up the ladder in recruiting, and even at that it won’t happen overnight.
Developing recruits by coaching them up daily in practice is the key to winning, which in turn becomes the key to landing more athletic players to develop.
There are no trophies for second or third place in recruiting, but if there is a trace of a silver lining, however difficult to see, it’s that KU’s coaches appear to know a player when they see one. Given that, maybe some of the lightly recruited prospects who will be discussed at Beaty's press conference Wednesday will end up being better than schools who passed on them realized."
Here's to that! .
