Cal Bear wife and I both figured our 30 lb. lard butt orange tabby jumped on the bed so we ignored it. When our old "skinny mini" tabby jumps on the bed it barely registers as a tremor. I'm guessing it wasn't much more than a 4.2 by the time it got to OFC (our fair city) of Benicia. The American Canyon/Napa 6.1 a few years back rocked us HARD for about 17 seconds. That one got my attention!!
So, take your pick: the occasional minor quake now and then, or subfreezing temperatures for extended periods of time. Of course we live in the Bay Area for the politics although I do miss the progressive nature of a college town when I was in Lawrence in the '80s.
Sleep tight WSG, and don't let the earthquakes bite!
