...and only 4 left in the Barn.

Time is flying, as it always does. :(

All I can say is wow. The basketball season keeps getting shorter. Hopefully the guys can play well the rest of the year. The energy they showed in the first half today is needed every game. That is what it will take this team to make their dreams come true.

... 4 home and 4 away games left.

I think I've got this breakout and the projections right as of today.

BLUF
Unless OU and WVU collapse, KU's best and maybe only chance the rest of the way is to take care of business at home and away.
Only problem is we haven't seen a broom in their closet for at least the last month. Hope they can find one, because even one loss will be deadly to their chances. (GO, KSTATE! BEAT OU TODAY! HEY, BAYLOR - YOU DO GOOD IN WEST -- BY GOD -- VIRGINIA, TOO!)

REMAINING ROAD GAMES
OU - TT, WV, tu, TCU projected losses: 2 (WV, tu)
WV - KU, tu, OSU, BU projected losses: 2 (KU, tu)
KU - OU, KSU, BU, tu projected loses: 2 (OU, tu - hope I am wrong, or else the streak is over)
tu - OU, ISU, KSU, OSU projected losses: 3 (all but OSU)
BU - KSU, tu, TCU, OU projected losses: 2 (tu, OU)
ISU - TT, BU, WV, KU projected losses: 3 (all but TT)

REMAINING HOME GAMES
OU - tu, KU, OSU, BU projected losses: 0 (again, hope I am wrong)
WV - TCU, OU, ISU, TT projected losses: 0 (would love anyone but OU to prove me wrong)
KU - WV, OSU, TT, IS projected losses: 0 (guys, please don't prove me wrong! )
tu - WVU, BU, KU, OU projected losses: 0 (can KU win in Austin and make this at least a 1?)
BU - TT, ISU, KU, WV projected losses: 2 (KU, WV)
ISU - tu, TCU, KSU, OSU projected losses: 1 (tu)

I'm bumping this thread so that HawkErrant's timely summary remains front and center.

If we're all really kind to him, perhaps he'll update this a few times as we proceed. (That is, if KU stays in the hunt--otherwise, it's sour grapes time!)

From what I can see, KU really needs to not only win tonight (in what is, for all intents and purposes, a MUST-WIN game), but also really needs to win at OU. That's how badly the OSU debacle is impacting us at the moment, as things shape up.

A UT upset of OU would've been very helpful last night, assuming OU is the team to beat (alongside WVU). They almost did it, but just couldn't finish and stop the clutch Buddy Hield.

Gotta get a W tonight, that's clear as day. Then gear up to beat OU at Norman!
