I am surprised Svi is -9. I thought he did alright. I wonder if it was mostly in the 2nd half that his numbers went south as I know he did have a bad stretch. Interesting that Wayne was so good plus minus when he only scored 3 points.

HCBS indicated in post game 'view that Wayne was ill today- I felt he looked gassed for much of the game. Highlight bounce pass on break in second half though. Could you remind us what goes into the +/- calculation or observation?

Hic manebimus optime
Svi did not have a good game on the defensive end.

Definitions
Min --> Obviously is the minutes played
(+/-) --> Is the scoring differential during the minutes the player is in the game
(+/-) per Min --> Obviously the total +/- divided by the minutes played
x-Min --> "x" indicates time not in the game so this is the minutes the player was on the bench or not in the game.
x-(+/-) --> This is the +/- during the time the player is not in the game.
x-(+/-) per Min --> Obviously the x-(+/-) divided by x-Min
Δ --> The delta is the difference between the (+/-) per min and the x-(+/-) per min. It measures the difference in the scoring margin between the time a player is in the game and when he is not in the game.

“With kindest regards to Dr. Forrest C. Allen, the father of basketball coaching, from the father of the game.”
1936 inscription on the portrait of Dr. Naismith, displayed above Phog Allen's office desk at KU.
Selden had 5 assists against 1 turnover. That kind of success can enable "upticks" in the +/- even if a player isn't scoring much because it means the team is putting the ball in the hoop when he's on the floor and having more chances to do so due to low turnovers.
(And, of course, there are caveats to it because other players can be stinking it up while the good-performing player is out there, etc.)
Correct me if I'm wrong on this, Corpus.

... the +/- did not do Jamari justice today.
He was screening, he was blocking out, he was rebounding on both ends, and he was even scoring a little -- in other words, for once he was hustling effectively instead of being the "energy guy" whose energies aren't properly focused. There were a handful of occasions where I thought "no!" and then went "YES, JAMARI!" because he was either saving our missed shoots for second and even third chances or blocking out and either getting or leaving space for Perry and others to get defensive rebounds that were sorely needed to counter our TOs.
In just 15 minutes he was second only to Perry (10) in rebounds (7, and 5 of those were OFFENSIVE boards, with only Bragg (2) getting more than 1 OR in the game), scored 6 points and did not turn the ball over once.
In his brief time in, Jamari was a major contributor today. I just hope we can say the same again and again over the rest of the season.

I know I am not Corpus but I am sure you're right. Obviously Wayne also played well on defense.

There was one possession in the first half where he grabbed two offensive rebounds on consecutive missed shots. It's so great to watch as a fan of the team (just as it's so demoralizing to watch when the O rebounds come against your team).
There was another OReb that led to a layup and then the follow jam off a Frank miss. Good stuff, Jamari!
