Nice move by Dillon, hope he gets "drafted"!

>No defense?
>Didn't acclimate to the Self system?
>Didn't acclimate to his role on the team / Self's expectations?
From what I saw, I can't say it's a huge loss, but if you base things on his 2023/24 season, maybe he's a good pickup for the right team.
Have I mentioned how much I hate the new free agency system?

Shay Wildeboor @JayhawkSlant on Rivals
Link: kansas.forums.rivals.com/threads/flory-b...ortal-update.129068/
- First off, I can tell you that Coach Bill Self recently met with Flory Bidunga, the 6-foot-9, 220-pound forward from Kokomo, Ind. For those that don't know, Bidunga had a "no contact" tag when he entered the portal, which means programs weren't permitted to reach out and begin the recruiting process. For that reason alone, I'm of the opinion that there was always a thought, at least in his mind, that a return was possible. I'm not saying that's absolutely going to happen, but I do know that Self recently met with Biduinga and is fighting like hell to get him back. Last I heard, this is basically a Kansas/Auburn race.
-- With a dead period currently in place, there won't be any visits, and the coaching staff isn't permitted to have any face-to-face interaction with recruits. However, when the dead period ends late next week, I think you'll start to see some activity with visits, both official and in-home visits. I know a lot of you guys/gals want answers now, but I think Bill Self and his staff are going about this the right way
-- Lastly, and I know KU's roster is far from complete, but the Jayhawks aren't completely left with nothing. Darryn Peterson is the No. 1 ranked player in my opinion, and the opinion of others, was the co-MVP of the McDonald's AA game, and is one win away from leading Prolific Prep the the championship game of the Chipolte Nationals. Oh, and he led PP to the Grand Session Championship a few weeks ago, Elmarko Jackson was a McDonald's AA, and Bryson Tiller, at one point before suffering an injury, was one of the top players in his class. Had Tiller remained healthy, he would have been playing alongside Peterson in the McDonald's AA game. Last season, Jamari McDowell had some nice moments and he's hungry to prove himself next season. These guys want to be at Kansas and they want to take the program back where it belongs.
I understand that some people are frustrated now, but let's revisit this in a month or two and see where things stand.
AND (in same thread)
After making some calls and talking to some folks, I think there is a good chance you see guys (from all over) committing to schools without ever visiting. I think Zoom calls will play a big factor in the decision-making process moving forward. I'm not saying guys still won't visit before deciding, but I think some guys will commit to schools before visiting.
AND
The way they’ve done it the last two years just didn’t work. It just didn’t. That’s not a knock on the staff or the players or anybody, but you look at the record the last two years and it’s not good. I think the way they’re approaching the portal this season and the time they’re taking is the way it should be done. KU has got plenty of money and the players will be there.

Sure hope he represents it well at KU!

White originally committed to Kansas early on in his high school career, then opted to go to USC instead. From there he transferred to Louisville, then to Illinois. He will finally finish his senior season at KANSAS.

If so, who wasn't, since best I can count KU was at this year's max of 13???
I have never gotten a good answer on this.

Sure and we're hopin' 'tis an accurate reportin'.
Just wanted to come in and post some info what we're hearing on Flory Bidunga.
There has been talk about tonight what's coming from the Auburn side.
Much of that originated from our Auburn site on the Rivals network. This evening Jay Tate from our Auburn site said on his show he expects Flory to return to Kansas.
That's just his feeling on the situation and he said he doesn't have any solid information one way or the other.
We spoke with Jay tonight and that's what he told us. That's the feeling from the Auburn side.

Remember the pesky PG from his days at KSU?
www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/pla...d/4576062/nijel-pack
Only played 9 game last season, then medical redshirted.
If he's fully recovered, I'd take him in a heartbeat.
When I first saw Pack had entered the portal I thought how ironic it would be for him to start his college career in Manhattan but end it in Lawrence - preferably beating them kitties three times on the way to another NC.
And now Shay @ Rivals is saying there's a chance?...

PG Honor Huff, Chattanooga
PG Honor Huff, Chattanooga Career stats
Shoot, take both Pack and Huff if you can get them, Bill!
We need 3 point shooters!
Check out what this guy did last year from 3 --
10 games with 8+ 3PA where he was 50% or better.
9-10
8-11
7-11
7-11
6-11
6-10
6-12
6-8
5-8
5-10
Given his overall 3pt% was 41% last year, he clearly is a streak shooter. When he's hot, he's hot, when he's not, he's not.
But ooh, when he's hot...
Funny how the return of Flory has boosted so many KU fans hopes for next season.

Corbin Allen, unranked on Rivals, 3* on 247Sports.
6-6/185 SG from Oak Park, KCMO
Had committed to San Diego, but recently decommitted.
There is some talk that KANSAS is indeed interested in him.
He has always been interested in KANSAS.
BTW, his HS Coach at Oak Park is Sherron Collins.
I like local blood...
Keep a weather eye out...

Word on the street is if he pulls out of the NBA Draft he does NOT want to return to Tech.
From x.com/tobias_bass/status/190900860530873...twcon%5Es1_&ref_url=
Tobias Bass on Twitter
NEWS: Texas Tech forward Darrion Williams will declare for the NBA draft, while maintaining his NCAA eligibility
He also plans to enter the transfer portal
Williams was an All Big-12 First Team selection with averages of 15.1 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game
5:21 PM April 6, 2025
He has 1 year of eligibility left after this season.
I have read that many consider the All Big 12 1st teamer to be "a BAD man".
I think we could live with that... and wonder if Bill would hold a ride open for him until the WEDNESDAY 2025-05-28, 11:59 PM ET: NCAA deadline to withdraw from draft and retain his eligibility?
Things that make yo go "Hmmm..."
