Men's Bracketology: 2025 NCAA Tournament

. ?? It is one of the most remarkable stretches in college basketball history.
Kansas under Bill Self has never -- N-E-V-E-R -- been worse than a 4-seed in the NCAA tournament. And in 20 consecutive trips to the tourney, that has only happened four times.
Half of KU's appearances have been as a 1-seed, not including the COVID-cancelled 2020 event. Which is why it's especially shocking to find the Jayhawks all the way down as the 7-seed in the Midwest.
To be fair, Kansas is a true six on our seed list (No. 22 overall), but was bumped down to avoid an early-round conference conflict. Nonetheless, this is a startling development for a program that has defined regular season consistency.
Self never lost more than six Big 12 games in a season before last year (10-8 ). He's sitting on seven league losses this season, so far. Remember, this was everyone's preseason No. 1 team.
It's probably just a blip in a two-decade run of dominance. If it isn't, all we can do is tip our hats to the passing of greatness.
"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime." - Mark Twain "Innocents Abroad"
