So many things could be included under that umbrella title.
I will limit my comments here to three items that I have been following for years now, plus another 2 which I have not so assiduously tracked.

First I'll address the last two -

• Entering this season, under Bill Self had not lost on Monday night in AFH.
THE BEAT GOES ON!
KU is 38-0 after defeating ISU on 3 FEB, with no more Monday night games in AFH on the calendar this AY.

• Entering this season, it has been 6 years since UK earned more wins in an AY than KU
AY2018-19: UK 30-7, KU 26-10.
Last season both teams won just 23 games, so close, but the beat was only muted, not dropped completely.
WILL THE BEAT GO ON?
UK is currently 18-8 while KU is 17-9.
Both programs have 5 regular season games to play.
I'm thinking the beat stops this AY. I hope I'm wrong.
(One could argue that i actually work with this stat all the time tracking the top 25 D1 All Time Winningest Programs, and that would be true, but I had not looked at when UK last bested KU in AY wins in years, so i include that "beat" here - HE)

As for the three items I have been assiduously keeping track of -

• WVU broke 2 KU streaks this AY when they won for the very first time in AFH on 31 DEC
- KU is now 11-1 v WVU in AFH.
That *beat* did not gone on. :(
- KU had won 33 consecutive conference opening games (14 in AFH, 19 on the road) before losing for the first time ever in AFH to WVU to start the Big 12 season. Before this AY, the last time Kansas lost a conference opener was at Oklahoma, 88-82, on 1991/01/08. The streak began with a huge 92-80 win at the Hearnes Center in the Hellmouth on 1992/01/13.
That *beat* did not gone on. :(
• KU has won 41 years straight SENIOR Games, the last regular season game played in AFH where all the graduating seniors are honored. Through 3 coaches starting with Vagabond Larry Brown in the Spring of 1984, our Jayhawks have not lost the last home game of the season. The last time KANSAS lost a Senior Game was on Mar 2, 1983: NU 60 KU 58
This year the last home game and last game of the regular season is on 8 MAR against Arizona.
It is possible that 42 in a row could happen.
After ISU in AFH I would have been somewhat optimistic.
After this past week I can only say HOPE (which is NOT a plan, but all we fans can do at this point) is all I have left.
From what we have seen these guys really do not have any fire left.
My expectation, sad to say, it that this beat, too, shall end in this most ignominious of seasons.

My only question at this point is will KU make the NCAA Tournament this season?
If our guys keep "playing" (and I use that term judiciously) as they have been, I would not be at all surprised to see KU being on the First 4 out list.

.
PS - I haven't kept track of it as it never really seemed to be a question until last year and now this one, but I do know off the top of my head that the last time KU did not have at least 20 wins in an AY was Roy's first AY (1988-89) when KU was banned from the postseason because of violations that occurred during Larry's tenure.
Can KU win 3 more games this year?
Sat Feb 22 OKST AFH 3:00 PM CBS
Mon Feb 24 Colorado Boulder 10:00 PM ESPN
Sat Mar 1 TTech AFH 1:00 PM ESPN/2
Mon Mar 3 Houston Houston	8:00 PM ESPN
Sat Mar 8 Arizona AFH 3:00 PM ESPN SENIOR GAME
Then a minimum of 1 game in the B12T and maybe one in the NCAAT?
Does KU accept an NIT bid if they fail to make the NCAAT?

I am sad to repeat again that I no longer believe in this year's team's ability to win.
Mostly as they do not seem to believe or, with a few exceptions, really care.

Which rather begs the question "Why should we care?"

The answer, of course, is because win or lose, we are Kansas Jayhawks!

Rock Chalk!
