UCF puts up 87 pts against KU at AFH. I am sure the guys were still physically and emotionally gassed from Sat and no Harris. I expected UCF would play harder given what KU did to them in Orlando, but seriously 87 pts against not a great team is pretty distressing.

The Hawks looked pretty bad in the first half. They had a lot of turnovers and were out rebounded. They really cleaned up their act in the 2nd half. UCF still had 11 more shot attempts than the Hawks. Part of that is due to UCF fouling a lot thus giving us 25 free throw attempts.

It seems to me Hunters tough around the rim has degraded. I thought I heard the announcers say he has the lowest field goal percentage of his career this year. That is what it looks like to me. I still think we are going to miss him when he is gone. He is huge and does more things right than people give him credit for. I really appreciate that he doesn't bring the ball down ion offensive rebounds and passes when he has great position.

Another thing I wanted to mention as a key to that game was UCF's player Hall was on fire. He was 11 for 11 on free throws and 5 of 7 on threes. On there last few possessions he tried very hard to run over or get a foul call against KJ but KJ played great defense and Mr. Hall did not get the call that he did not deserve. I am critical of KJ because I feel our offense is too limited with a 4 that can't shoot the three. It makes the spacing too compact. He is a very good defender and has closed out many games where we needed a stop at the end and he shut down the other teams main scorer.

Hairy - thank you for the additional insight. I agree with your comments re both Hunter and KJ re on the court. It just seems HCBS has not been able to get the parts working together smoothly. Midpoint of the season, but B12 T is likely lost to UH (don’t like that they fell into/stole one at AFH- Sampson is such a whiner); but maybe Hawks get it together for March.
