Is it fish or cut bait with the talented but underperforming Storr?

Decision time, as Vernon discusses...

Hearings.com: The AJ Storr Situation

"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime." - Mark Twain "Innocents Abroad"

Great article with good analysis. Have to agree. Storr has the talent, but needs to find a way to exploit it WITHIN Self's system.

I'll note that this is a bit of a two way street at times. Thinking back to when Perry Ellis was being pushed to play the 5 and bang inside when that wasn't his natural position/style. Once Self figured out that he just wasn't capable of playing that way and he allowed Perry to be Perry a little bit, he blossomed. Not sure of Storr falls into a similar category or not, just putting it out there.

One thing's for sure, nobody ever accused Perry of being soft, not putting in the effort, not playing defense, or not trying to execute Self's gameplan. Not sure Storr has proven that yet.

"When I was a freshman, I remember Coach Naismith telling us how important it was to play good defense." - Mitch Lightfoot

Not sure if Storr has even been given enough of a chance to prove it yet. I live it Big 10 land and saw him play a lot - he can play. But going out on the court, knowing you have a short leash is not going to let him blossom, and get used to Self's system at game-time speed.
