KU 54 CIN 40

In an offensively UGLY game the KU Men's Basketball team held an opponent under 55 points for the third straight game.

HC Bill Self notched his 600th win at KANSAS and 807th overall, passing his mentor OKState great Eddie Sutton for #14 all-time among NCAA D1 Men's basketball coaches.

Self becomes just the 20th HC in NCAA D1 history to record 600 wins at one program (per the stream team).

Next up - time to demystify some Hilton Magic, Jayhawks!
Wed Jan 15 ISU Ames 6:00 PM ESPN2

As HCBS said “ ugly ass win”, but this team is starting to find an identity. Let’s see how they hold up in Ames with all the Max’s and Karen’s curdling for Jayhawk blood.

When you make less than 10% of your three pointers you don't often winn

Any road win in the conference is a good thing, fugly or not. Some poor shot selection helped keep their shooting percentage low, lol.

Ames will be a big indicator. They're for real and a win there would help give me some faith that we're finding our way.

And this player is not helping KU by shooting from the arc.
Needs to give it up.

The one I am most disappointed in their shooting so far is David Coit. He has not been making his shots but I think that can change that, or at least I hope he can. Obviously you normally don't want your bigs shooting low percentage three pointers.

With this rotation of 9 I think it's evident that HCBS will try to win low scoring 54-49 type games. Houston seems to have the same idea,
Put another way it looks like "you guard or you watch." even more than most years.
