First off, I'm a fan of KJ and one of his biggest defenders. That said, he has clearly regressed this year. His offense and his rebounding simply aren't where they need to be to be a starter (or finisher) on this team.
I don't think Self has given on Griffin. I think sitting him for Shaq Moore was more about improving their defense, especially the high ball-screen. He got plenty of floor time today (18 minutes) and performed well offensively
As for AJ, he hasn't impressed me. I started off nervous about him after the things I heard about him at Wiscy (volume shooter, no defense) but I trusted Self knew what he was doing. However it seems the rumors were closer to the truth...he only seems to hustle when he see's a chance of scoring, and his defense is not even close to HCBS standards. All we see are the games; HCBS sees him in practice every day, so "In Self I Trust".
