“Joke” is a bit harsh. As a non-US-citizen his NIL options are zero-to-none due to immigration Visa requirements so there’s no financial draw to stay in college (still weird to type that…). And the scouts like him. Remember that the NBA drafts as much on potential as they do on performance.
Also recall he arrived really late due to the late signing. I believe if he had gotten on campus with all the other freshmen (and not suffered from shin splints) he would have started much earlier in the season. Yes, I also believe as do others that he could really benefit from another year under Self, but there’s always the risk of injury…
