Glad the Hawks pulled it out. But seriously TCU taking them down to the wire at AFH speaks the grind of this Conf will be, no surprise, but TCU is not that good. How many TO’s did the Hawks have. Need to clean it up, but rather start w/ an ugly W than a tough home L.

Thanks Refs!
Seriously, the thwack to Hunter's noggin very easily could have been determined a "play on". It certainly wasn't intentional. And the fact that the refs stopped play when TCU had a 4 on 5 break started earns the refs and additional pitcher at their post-game celebration at the Wheel.
My take is that they should have waited a bit longer on the whistle before reviewing it. TCU may have scored, or maybe they wouldn't. But getting 2 shots and the ball back (and turning a 2-point deficit into a 2-point advantage) with 0:30 left will certainly be something people will be talking about.
Hope our guys don't think they can count on breaks like that going forward. I'd much rather have had this play out with us up by 15 rather than down 2.
Oh well, we've been on the other end of such things too. 17 more conference games to go. Put the win in the bank and get ready for our first conference road game next week.

Not O - KU gets a favorable call in AFH, it happens, and as you state, KU has been on the opposite side. But HD makes FT’s, Harris makes the layup, and HD makes game winner.
What is annoying is the number of TO’s by the Hawks, TCU has 22 pts off TO’s, or that a TCU player who averages less than 10 pts/game goes off. KU D was slow today.
Win in the bank, HCBS has enough to work with, and onto Weds.

Agreed. The call helped, but we still had to execute to lock down the win.
Lots of stuff can happen in the next 17 games for EVERYONE. Injuries, illness, bad bounce here, bad call there. That's why the play the games.
If the formula holds that you need to win your home games and at least half your road games, they did their job today. Home losses hurt MUCH more than road losses, so put the W in the bank and keep working to get better.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

I think this is1 of 18 games that are going to be a grind. This was just a start.

I think both were correct. A foul does not need to be intentional to be flagrant 1. Strokes to the head, inadvertently or otherwise, will be called tighter. As for stopping play when TCU had the man advantage, as soon as Peavy (sp?) turned back towards the KU basket and passed the ball that way the fast break was over and play was stopped for an injured player per the rules.
