OTHER IMPORTANT DATES
TRANSFER PORTAL
MONDAY 2024-03-18 through WEDNESDAY 2024-05-01, the last date for ALL PROSPECTIVE transfers to enter the portal and be eligible to play next Fall without an NCAA waiver. The only exception will be for players who experience a coaching change at their current schools. They can still enter after the May 1 deadline if they do so within 30 days of that change taking place.
(2024-04-17 the NCAA voted to send a new bylaw to the Executive Committee opening "no waiver required" transfers to any undergraduate, not just first time transferrees. See this ESPN article. Later it was announced that the new rules also folded graduate transfers into having to enter the portal during the window if they wanted to be eligible to play next fall without a waiver. Looks to be the NCAA trying to calm the transfer seas even a little bit for coaches.)
NBA DRAFT RELATED
SUNDAY 2024-04-28, 11:59 PM ET: NBA deadline to declare for 2024-06-27 draft (60 days out)
WEDNESDAY 2024-05-29, 11:59 PM ET: NCAA deadline to withdraw from draft and retain eligibility assuming no agent is hired or an NCAA certified agent is hired.*
Date is ten days after the final day of the annual NBA Draft Combine, which is scheduled for MONDAY May 13 through SUNDAY May 19, 2024. Note this date is NOT the same as the NBA's draft withdrawal deadline (5:00 PM ET 2024-06-16, 10 days before the NBA draft is held over two days starting on Wednesday 2024-06-26). (Edited to reflect new information published with the release of the 2024 NBA Draft Order (see link below).
*With the NCAA rules approved in August 2018, effective with the 2019 NBA Draft players can hire an NCAA certified agent and still return to school.

All subsequent year Super Seniors through AY2025-26 (projected final year for SSrs) count against roster and scholarship totals. A © indicates a player eligible for an extra Covid year.

Moments after four-star guard Liam McNeeley asked out of his letter of intent with Indiana, buzz began to build about the Jayhawks’ involvement. In the wake of his decommitment, I wrote that Kansas was clearly the team to watch, and nothing on that front seems to have changed whatsoever a week later. The McNeeley family is staying pretty quiet about the five-star’s process for now, but no other team has emerged as a serious suitor to this point, and it’s starting to seem as though other teams have accepted that former IU signee will ultimately land in Lawrence. Texas, which was very much involved the first time around, does not seem to be a player and there has been no buzz of other programs swooping in to get McNeeley in for a visit. Things change quickly in recruiting, but no news is good news for Kansas, as, at least for now, it seems to be the only team truly in the arena when it comes to McNeeley’s second recruitment. -- Rob Cassidy

Cassidy erred in his first sentence, fixed it after — Rivals has McNeely as a 5*.

No significant changes other than Self has another ride in his pocket even if no one transfers out.

Flory Bidunga fell from #6 to #18.
Still a 5*, but no longer Rivals' top center in the class. In fact, he's now 3rd.
Still think we will keep him, yes?
Meanwhile our other two traditional recruits moved up a bit.
4* PG Labaron Philon rose from 41 to to 37.
Nice.
4* SF Rakease Passmore rose from 50 to 39.
Very nice indeed!
Still rates as Rivals #9 HS class for 2024.
ROCK CHALK!

If true, Self&Co have 3 rides available.
Rylan Griffen is announcing his commitment decision on Friday.
It's expected to be KU.
That would leave 2 rides available.
