Monday 8:00 PM CT ESPNU

With back-to-back-to-back games to be played next week, it is crucial for Monday’s game against Chaminade that our Jayhawks build a big lead early. Give Furphy, McDowell, Timberlake and Braun a *lot* of game time and our starters a chance to be rested for the winner of UCLA v Marquette on Tuesday and then KU game 3 on Wednesday, hopefully the title game against (Tennessee/Purdue/Syracuse/Gonzaga).

Tournaments are tough, having to play back-to-back games in a short window. While losing in the 1st round is a bad outcome, getting beat up or exhausted in the 1st round is right up there. Get the starters a good workout and get lots of reps for the bench guys is always the goal. Other than that, avoid injuries and be real careful about what you're ingesting while you're in Hawaii.

Body clocks are going to be totally out of whack, so eating something that gets your guts gurgling, or even getting exposed to some kind of bug can only be WORSE when your sleep schedule is whacked out.

"When I was a freshman, I remember Coach Naismith telling us how important it was to play good defense." - Mitch Lightfoot
