Saw somewhere that Hunter not only had a double double but he also had a double double in both halves. Wonder how often that happens. Also read that Hunter was the first to score 20-20 plus against Kentucky in the last 25 years. Nice game!!

"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime." - Mark Twain "Innocents Abroad"
Plus they noted that it was the first 20-20 for a KU player since 2003, which means Nick Collison’s game against Texas that led Dick Vitale to give him a standing ovation was the last time it happened.
Which means Hunter is the *only* player in the Self era to do it.

So far, Hunter has delivered as advertisted.
His line vs. UK was phenomenal. Hard to use the Manhattan, NCCU and Fort Hays as any kind of real basis of comparison to what we'll encounter, so I'll just ignore those. In the Illinois scrimmage, it looked several times like they sped him up and had him a little out of sorts, yet he still had 22 points there.
I'm not a huge fan of him shoothing 3s, but the stats (currently) show him hitting 86% from 3 (5-6 on the season), so maybe he's our go-to sniper this year (not). It's nice that he can keep people honest on the perimeter and force them to guard him, but his obvious place is on the post where I've been impressed with the fact that he's a good fighter in the paint, and makes his FTs when he gets fouled. All A+ grades so far.
The only knock I'd have on him is that he's not a great rim protector for a guy his size. He currently has 3 blocks which is the same as KJ Adams, and you'd think that he'd have more. Even IF this doesn't improve (which it very easily could) it's a nitpick when it comes to the rest of what he brings.
Maybe the most pleasant thing is that he seems to have fully embraced KU. I'm not sure how he feels about Michigan, but even in his post-game interview the other day, he ended with a "Rock Chalk" and seems to have blanketed himself in everything KU brings as a program.
The KU/UCONN game on 12/1 will be a big game to watch. UCONN's Donavan Clingan is a true 7'2" center and is very physical and very talented. The stats say that Hunter is the better player, but it will be a very interesting matchup that will give Hunter a real handful to deal with.
