Johnny Furphy - shin splints

Looks like Furphy will not be playing in the Illinois game.

Of interest, Zack will be playing against Illinois even though he still plans to redshirt.

Can I provide another reason or contributing reason for the shin splints? When Furphy was first introduced, his height was listed as 6’7-8” . Recently, he was listed at 6’9”. There is a recent photo of him near Self and the the 6’9” appears pretty realistic. Shin splints are not uncommon in athletes during rapid growth spurts.

Found a sneaky but not illegal way to get around the Kansas City Star paywall. Copy the heading to the article of interest and paste in Goggle or perhaps some other other browser . I use Google Chrome. There are usually 1-3 other sites that reproduce the story. I pasted "Will Johnny Furphy make his KU basketball debut Wednesday?" the title of the article in the Star into Chrome and got the quote listed above.
