Vindicated!
All Level 1s downgraded to 2s and 3s, past KU measures sufficient for “time served”.
NCAA was out for blood and IARP adjudicated accordingly!

In a decision announced Wednesday, the NCAA’s Independent Accountability Review Process (IARP) led to a downgrade in the severity of the five Level I allegations against the program, ultimately judging this a Level II case. The Independent Resolution Panel gave Kansas a three-year probation, with no effect on the program’s postseason status. Head coach Bill Self, who was initially charged with a Level I violation and was suspended for four games last season, was instead charged with a Level III violation and no additional penalties. Assistant coach Kurtis Townsend, who was suspended four games last year as well, also had his charges reduced from Level I to a Level II and a Level III violation, with no additional penalties. Neither coach faces a show-cause order, which could have been applicable for Level I violations.

1.) agent tries to get KU to pay for Zion WIlliamson. KU coach says, "well see what we can do" or something equally non-commital. Zion picks Duke, so KU obviously did nothing, and nobody ever bothered to sniff around Duke to see if they were writing checks.
2.) Whether innocuus and non-committal statements by KU coaches are an admission of some kind of guilt. If a criminal walks up to me and makes me an offer and I say "I'll consider it" and then I DO consider it, that's a lot different than a crazy person coming up to me, making me a crazy offer and saying "I'll consider it" and then rolling my eyes and walking away from the crazy person.
Also, I saw some article today from some Mizzou outlet gushing about how today was the day that KU was finally going to get what it deserved. I would LOVE to see the guy who wrote it right now.

"The IARP will force KU to vacate 15 victories from the 2017-18 season — games in which Silvio De Sousa, whose guardian was cited in the report as accepting improper benefits, participated. Those victories will be stripped from Self’s career head-coaching record, as well."
"According to the IARP, “any public references to the vacated records shall be removed from the athletics department stationery and banners displayed in public areas.”"

148 minutes (9.9 min per game)
65 points (4.3 PPG)
3 assists
13 TO’s
63 rebounds
27 of 37 FG’s
KU won those 15 games by a total of 1200-1051 or 149 points or 10 points per game. What a shame to lose 15 victories when realistically at most 1,or possibly would have certainly been victories without Silvio. But dems da rules.

If shoe companies are going to be considered boosters then half the NCAA programs are probably guilty.

Subsequent reports added the vacated wins, which sucks and is unfair in my opinion.
Nevertheless we're deep into the NIL era now, so it all becomes moot and my overall opinion of college sports in general continues to descend at a steady interval.

BUT…
As of of yet, I have not seen the one main thing that keeps me coming back radically effected. And what is that?
When the Jayhawks take the floor, the competitiveness and will to win is still much as it has always been. It is still an exciting game for 40 seconds of play clock and 2 hours of time. Once things like “load management” enter or players dictating game strategy and play time like the NBA, I am out. I keep thinking every year that I am going to taper back because of the distastefulness of the ancillary aspects surrounding the game. But then tip-off happens and I see 5 guys busting their butts to win and even with a little school spirit to boot. As of yet, this aspect of the game still maintains its draw and purity enough to keep me coming back.

CorpusJayhawk wrote: Seems pretty far from unscathed. KU has to vacate 15 wins including 4 NCAA wins and a Final Four appearance. Yeah, no more post-season ban but a whole post season from the past wiped out. That seems like a pretty huge issue and definitely a black mark. We have to vacate all the WINS De Sousa played in 2017-18 season. Ouch and double ouch. That moves Kentucky back way ahead in all time wins.
Yeah, it sure looks like Forde missed that part of the IRP decision.
After diving deeper, the IRP specifically deemed Silvio ineligible for 2017-18
Gone are
15 wins for KU and Self
14th straight Big 12 title
Big 12 tournament title
Final Four appearance v Nova (even though a loss, KU “wasn’t there”)
UK has a 5 game lead in ATWP.
For once I wish Forde was right.

Either I or my laptop (maybe both) are having issues today.
I THOUGHT I hit QUOTE to reply to you, then decided to reply without quoting you, but instead I ended up editing your comment, and now I cannot recover it.
If you have a copy, please repost it, especially the part about the role SDS played when Dok went down.
Thank you!
And Sorry!

Sorry HE, that was off the cuff. However, regarding SDS filling in for DOK, it was my recollection that he (along with Malik) saved us in the B12 tournament (and of course Malik continued for the next 4 games, almost beating Duke single-handed). But as someone noted, we lost 5/20 games with him playing so he wasn't a total savior.
