Where are they building it? I notice they were demolishing the nursing school building on 39 and Rainbow.

denster,
Articles only talk about it being on the 39th & Rainbow Blvd campus.
I have emailed the KU Medcen PR office for more info.

Kay Hawes from KUHS PR responded:
The new building will be located between two existing multi-story parking garages, P4 and P5. Right now there is a surface parking lot there.
The School of Nursing is not being demolished, but the building known as Eleanor Taylor is being demolished. (It was very old and cost more to maintain than to demolish.) Right now there are no plans to put a new building in Taylor’s spot.
In the map linked below the Taylor building is just north of the School of Nursing building on the corner of 39th & Rainbow.

I believe the surface parking lot Kay is referencing is Lot 99 just off Eaton St, the only lot truly between the P4 and P5 garages.

Follow up from Kay Hawes providing a link to this map and confirmation of the proposed building’s location.
