This is a real positive. I am pretty sure we all agree that Grady is gone. Getting a tall shooter that is athletic will be a huge help. Not saying we can replace Grady but anything is better than nothing...wait maybe it is I don't know.

I am really glad for Marcus to come next year and I hope he adjusts at least as well to the D-1 level of play as Grady.
Personally, I am not convinced that Grady is gone. I have suggested this before and still believe that he understands the importance of building a legacy more than bolting for greater glory. I believe the note he found in his room from Ochai really resonated with him. I could be wrong, but hope I'm not, not for my sake.

I had heard that his Mother, before the current season started or shortly there after, stated that he needed to get stronger suggesting he needed a second year before going pro. Again like you NH, "not for my sake."

Thanks, replay. From what I read when Adams first committed I assumed this would happen and immediately added him to the 2023 class. Glad he didn’t disappoint!
And I sure agree with Newton and hoshi — and preseason Gradey’s mom— that GD needs to get stronger. But if Gradey is being told by the pros from Dover that he is assured round 1 draftee now?
That guaranteed $ is hard to pass on…
Confident that Mom & Dad — and HCBS — will help him make the right decision for *him* and not us greedy fans (including myself there!).

I have thought all season a second year would be good for him. He'd be a high lottery for sure next year. But I look at it with my KU selfishness. Hopefully he makes the best decision for him which is staying. Haha

I recall something HCLB said around 1985. Kids go to college to develop earning power. The margin between a late lottery slot in 2023 and a mid lottery slot in 2024 is meaningful but time value and uncertainty probably mean he gets stronger playing rotation minutes in the Ass'n.
Last Edit: 1 year 8 months ago by Illhawk. Reason: typo
