I don’t really care about where we were seeded overall, because we have to win 6 games, 4-5 of which will be tough, regardless of where we play.
But I’m wondering if getting sent out West was the NCAA’s way of exacting a final punishment against KU for past recruiting “violations”.
I suspect we’ll get word after the season from the special infractions counsel that we did “something” wrong, but there will be no erasing of past victories and no future post season bans. And maybe the NCAA is being petty. Wouldn’t surprise me.
Onward ! Rock Chalk.

Hadn't thought about that but it's a good point. Just doesn't make any sense what just happened. After playing more Q1 games by leaps and bounds than anyone else and outright winning the toughest conference it does seem like punishment. Oh well let's hope the guys are angry and go take it to everyone!

Yeah, I think Self now uses the slight as motivation for the team. I love it !

While somewhat p,ssed, at the end of the day, we messed up with the bad loses all season. I was not too p.ssed with the UT loss. The players were exhausted after three games in three days, minus one of our best defenders, a weak bench, and without our leader, and Hunter did a job taking out Harris for much of the game. A great strategy by UT players and coaches. Harris was struggling with stamina in the second half. Just play the games in front of us. I enjoyed this season. When asked by a friend at the beginning of the season what I thought of this team. I responded that I thought we were a top 10 team. This team has exceeded my expectations. Look at Asteroid's initial projections in the Big 12 and season, exceeded.

Did we get shafted by the NCAA?
Yes.
Does anybody outside of the KU fanbase really care?
Nope.
Do other schools feel like they were mis-seeded by the NCAA?
Yep.
Will complaining about this do us any good at all?
Nope.
Is there ANYTHING we can do about this?
Yep. Go win 6 games in a row.
Rock Chalk.

It was definitely a slap on the wrist.
“Houston lost but they were without their best player”
Weak. KU was without McCullar and Self (no disrespect to Norm, but Bill is Bill).
They were just looking for any reason to keep Kansas out of Kansas City.
Also, I have this picture in my head of the NCAA rep awarding the Midwest Regional Championship trophy to the “Kansas City Jayhawks”, and him (her?) having to bite their tongue in the process!

Don't worry about the mules, just load the wagon!!
I will take a different tack. I do not think the NCAA selection committee gave any thought to KU’s violations. I think that is homerism thinking. Based on whose algorithm you like, KU is somewhere ranked 3rd to 9th in the country. When you are -I king seeding, there are lots of considerations. While KU played unquestionably the toughest schedule and had the most Quad 1 wins. We tend to put a ton of emphasis on that. And the committee does as well. Otherwise, KU would have been a two seed. I do no believe KU is one of the best 4 teams in the country. But we were the beneficiary a tough schedule and because we have the best coach in the game we were able to win more games than we probably should have given our talent level. Do we deserve a No. 1 overall seed? In my opinion no, absolutely not. Are we one of the 4 best teams in the country? In my opinion, no we are not. Do we deserve a No. 1 seed? In my opinion yes, because of our resume’ inspite,of our rating. I think the committee got it exactly right.

Matt Tait does provide a very positive look at getting the West. Stuff to ponder…
