Must have read my post about UK's fall from preseason #3 to losing in the first round of the NIT to Robert Morris and were concerned that they could steal the crown from the squidlings.
Pretty pathetic for them to chicken out like that. Says a lot about the character of their organization. I can't imagine Self doing the same. Instead, you tell your guys that you're a team that takes pride in competing and if given the opportunity to compete, you go give it 100% Better to go run the table at the NIT and have a legitimate argument that you should have made the NCAA, or at least make the attempt.
They eliminated any shot at any kind of success. Odd strategy it seems.

I agree. It seems to me the players like to play the game of basketball. They would want to play another game. It is interesting that they are saying no.

There is still money from the NIT that goes to the conference and university and everything seems to be about money. By saying no, they are depriving both of monies.
Well, MU said no the playing KU in a bowl game. How did that work out? Smaller payout and they lost anyway.
