I looked back, the 2011-12 team lost in the second round that year after going 16-2 in Big 12 play. Though yesterday's game was thoroughly disappointing I am still holding out hope this team could make a deep run. When clicking, they are very hard to beat. Let's just hope they don't come up against TX or TN in their run.

Let's go Hawks!!!

Bill back, Kevin back, three days to prep for game 1 and have one or two of the assistants do preliminary prep for game 2 possibles, up to 48 hours in between to physically rest while mentally prepping for game 2, hopefully playing with 5 healthy regular starters.

Win both and repeat the process.

Tough road, but if tu sticks in the craw as I hope it will they will dig deep and get ‘er done until they can potentially meet tu for a 4th time in the FF.

I figure they’ve got a chance.

Couldn't agree more on this...if these guys play like they are capable they definitely can go far. We need to avoid the home against TCU, @ISU, @TX X2, vs Tenn team and bring the monster that wins all the other games they did. They have won some dang tough games against very hard competition and they are extremely battle tested. I think even more so than last years team. So let's just take it a game at a time and let's do this!!!! Rock Chalk For LIFE!!!!

I really hate to be Debbie Downer but as I see it quite often HCBS gets a bad tourney reputation because he does such a good job of getting the most from his team for the entire season. This quite often gets them a higher seed than what the talent level is. When they lose to a team not seeded as high HCBS gets a rep of not succeeding in the tourney. I am pretty sure Corpus did an excellent study on this phenomenon. I agree this team can win it all but as HCBS said their margin for error is much thinner than some other teams.

While we appreciate and understand what you write, you are not telling us anything that we don’t already know, hairy.

So let’s accentuate the positive,
eliminate the negative,
latch on to the affirmative and
don’t mess with Mr. Inbetween.

Nobody ever said it wouldn’t be semi tough!

LET’S DO THIS JAYHAWKS!

NATIONAL CHAMPS!

with total respect HE i think it actually (for me) enhances the satisfaction of being big 12 champs and a no 1 seed to actually realize that this is a very flawed team. flawed because we dont really have a big and clearly have no bench. not sure bill has pulled anything like this off in his entire career. having said that if kevin is healthy i can see us beating howard/ark/uconn/ucla (or gonzaga) to get to houston. after that very tough with this group im afraid but of course i will be rooting for them and have them losing only to alabama in my bracket. go hawks!

I don’t disagree at all, big g. I’m just doing my version of Donald Sutherland’s Oddball in the movie Kelly’s Heroes.

”Always with the negative waves Moriarty, always with the negative waves.
Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?”
==========

Kelly: Nobody's asking you to be a hero.

Oddball: No? Then YOU sit up in that turret baby.

Kelly: No, because you're gonna be up there, baby, and I'll be right outside showing you which way to go.

Oddball: Yeah?

Kelly: Yeah.

Oddball: Crazy... I mean like, so many positive waves... maybe we can't lose, you're on!
==========

I’m a BIG believer in sending those positive waves and maintaining that positive mental attitude! Debbie Downer’s in my platoon? Gotta adopt/adapt a PMA if we’re going to get those reinforcing Fieldhouse-like vibes through the ether to our far away guys in Crimson & Blue!

And as we all know, even our greatest teams — which we all know and agree this is not necessarily one of, but if all they do is win — need that little extra metaphysical boost from We the Fans to help them reach the heights! We CANNOT let them down! In the immortal words of Rodgers & Hammerstein —
“You got to have a dream!
If you don’t have a dream
How you gonna have a dream come true?”

So put on your best Tug McGraw and remember — ya gotta believe!
