OK, despite my annual frustrations with Self about bringing freshmen along too slowly, sticking with upperclassmen when more athletically gifted young guys are available, and refusing to set a single pick for shooters like Grady to get open looks, I'm finally willing to admit --- oh boy -- here goes::
Self really does know what he's doing. There, I said it. I feel relieved.
I took this entire season in stride, and see once again that Self aims for March dominance, generally at the cost of losing some games we should win, and having some stagnant offensive nights. I honestly believe he loves early season losses, and doesn't mind a few blowout losses along the way. They're attention getters, and teaching moments.
Here we are, with Udeh exploding on the scene, Harris scoring more, defense becoming dominant, rebounding increasing, and even MJ Rice making more than a token 3 minute appearance. We're getting ready for March, and I feel really good about what we'll see over the next month.
Rock Chalk !!
And Hail Chiefs and Mahomes !!
