They seemed to foul really hard like the one on Yesufu was horrible and in my opinion should have been a flagrant. Then the one on McCullar, it was clear he wasn't going for the ball as he just slapped Kevin's forearm.
Maybe I'm seeing it through my KU colored glasses. They just seemed like punks and talked a lot of trash and were extremely physical as in chippy and lame, not just a strong team. It was annoying.

“With kindest regards to Dr. Forrest C. Allen, the father of basketball coaching, from the father of the game.”

100%. As a former coach in youth leagues who knows about red lines you're not supposed to cross, the foul against Joe - pummeling a defenseless player in mid-air up at the rim - was just egregious. Mean-spirited, unsportsmanlike, and designed to injure or physically intimidate. It is NOT supposed to happen, and I could not believe my eyes that the refs did not call that a flagrant. It was brazen and brutal. And then, to rub salt in the wound, the Texas player and his teammates proceeded to all high-five one another and celebrate the play - while Joe was writing in pain on the floor. If I were Self, I would've blown a gasket there. And honestly, I couldn't understand why the other KU players didn't immediately get in the grill of that player to let them know you don't go thug on our guys - anywhere, but especially in our house.
After that, you are right, Replay, they were talking lots of trash - and shockingly, again, the refs just let it go (even though the guy doing it with Jalen just kept on and on and on). What are the zebras thinking there? Do they just want to let this escalate to a brawl? Wake up. Get in the middle and shut that crap down.
Agreed also on the foul on Kevin. Wasn't a basketball play - just a blatant hack of his arm/hand. (And it looked like he got hurt on that play too)
I texted HawkE during the game that this Texas team pisses me off. I don't like them one iota. So glad we beat their asses last night. (Excuse my French, but it was called for) The rematch in Austin will be quite salty.

It will take a few more games to see if there is a trend, but after all the complaints from all programs to the Big 12 HQ — it seems every program has had issues — I am left wondering if the refs have been told to cool their whistles?
That would explain the lack of calls for what konza63 and others, including yours truly, believe were egregious fouls.
They still called a lot of fouls last night (KU 14, tu 20), but those refs also left a lot of fouls on the floor. Bilas and Neely even noted a lot of plays they thought should have been fouls (interestingly enough, neither of the plays we are really irritated about).

Interesting. I didn't see it like that.
I thought the Yesufu block was almost a good block. He got ball first, then hit with the body. I think Joe "sold" it a little.
Frankly, I thought we got away with a lot of chippy fouls. Not flagrant fouls, just a lot of slapping, body banging, ball hawking, etc.
The smack talk to Wilson, is unfortunately, what goes on in a lot of games. I loved that we went on a 6-0 run right after that. I think our guys picked up JW and ran TX butts off the court.

I thought we handled the chippy period well. We walked away with smiles like we own their heads, and then scored. I wondered whether some of the smack goes back to their HS and AAU days seeing that a number f players on both side were Texas kids. From the refs perspective, maybe they heard the chatter and no one heard the key words that trigger a technical. I thought the refs did not want to decide the game by calling technicals. Kudos to Wilson in particular.
