I took this from Jayhawk Slant. Makes a heck of a lot of sense.
"There is time to be reactive in a negative way if your team's not doing well. This is not one of our times. I mean, we have gotten beat and granted, we got beat to a team that was projected to win the league tonight that's really good. And they went through the same crap we're going through right now. We got beat by a team that's fifth in the country or right at there place by one, and we got beat at home that could have beat anybody in the country Saturday. So our league is that good.
It's going to be a grind. Our team isn't talented enough that we can be disappointed when teams of equal talent play better than us and get frustrated with it. We don't have as much margin for errors as we've had in years past and that's OK. But you don't have quite as much margin for error and the other teams in the league are a lot better it makes it tough. So, the difference in our league than in past, there's just not games you can say we can get well here. I mean, there's none of those games.
So I'll be honest with you, I've got to take a different approach and understand that it's a marathon. It's not an immediate reaction, because you can react immediately in this league and you'll have nine other teams go through the exact same thing in some point in time during season."

I understand his point, and he’s the best one to know.
But I still don’t understand how we have three kids 6-10 and taller who can’t find a TOTAL of five minutes of playing time.
We give up so much size. I can’t imagine those three are so bad still that they can’t get some solid time, and give KJ a rest and keep him out of foul trouble. He is my MVP so far (Wilson is a stud, but without KJ, boy would we be challenged to score), but he needs some help.

My fundamental frustration is how do programs, with no pedigree, TCU, TTech recruiting comparable/equal talent to KU. BU still boggles the mind, what 19-21 year old wants to play in freaking Waco. I get a lot of this is NiL and the Portal, but when the darn grapes can field a MBB that is doing better than KU, there is something amiss.

I agree to a degree. The things I have noted in another thread are mental issues. But a big part of this year has been aggressiveness. We keep getting outhustled in the beginning of the game. It shows up in lack of rebounds, lack of getting to the free throw line, huge deficit that we face in many games, etc.
This combined with the lacked productivity from the bench means that we are stuck fighting through this and hoping to claw back in to the game.
Other teams are coming out more energized and more aggressive on both ends of the floor.
Harris will hopefully get back on track and hopefully Grady will continue going to the basket looking to score like he did in the second half, but if we don’t start matching our opponents intensity from the opening tip, we are going to see more losses that look the same as these last three.
