BILL SELF TO HIS JAYHAWKS BEFORE THE BIG GAME IN THE “OCTAGON OF GLOOM”—

(Pacing before his men, looking each man in the eyes as he speaks)

I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me.

(He continues to pace, shaking his head “no” as he walks and talks…)

A DAY MAY COME when the courage of men fails,

when we FORSAKE our friends
and BREAK all bonds of fellowship…

(He pauses and forcefully points to the locker room floor, challenging them)

An hour of WOLVES and SHATTERED shields,
