I definitely recognize Higgins every game he works, and I must say I generally think he calls KU games even-handedly. He's had his moments, but usually he is the one stepping in when Self goes off on the other ref working the game. From what I've been able to tell, Self respects Higgins and vice-versa. He certainly doesn't always agree with him, but he respects him.
The one caveat to the above is I'm left scratching my head as to whether Higgins was the other official working the KU-OU game, in which several infamous calls were made by the older ref that night. Not that that would be a stain on Higgins, but if he did work that one I would've liked to have seen him take a stronger lead role.
