If they also impose some post season ban after the end of the '23 season that'd really stink as I want to keep the post season streak going. Hope this is behind us very soon.

The NCAA has repeatedly stated that these days it does NOT want to punish current athletes for past program transgressions.
If they really mean it, there won’t be one.

Just to be clear, the NCAA no longer has a say here. The "I" in IARP is Independent as in not associated with the NCAA. That said, The IARP has repeatedly stated that these days it does NOT want to punish current athletes for past program transgressions.

I suspect this is all orchestrated with the IARP, the NCAA and KU. IARP I believe has been disbanded after it concludes the cases it has in front of it, so they have to throw a bone to the NCAA by imposing something, and they can’t have taken this long only to find no wrong doing with no penalties. They would be harshly criticized if they didn’t take some action.
So we self impose penalties that, frankly, make no difference to recruiting, performance over four games, etc. IARP makes some bland finding of some improprieties that have already been aired publicly, and accepts KU’s penalties, and the process ends.
Bruce Weber and types like him will cry about the injustice, and then it’s over and NIL becomes the guiding force of college sports.

Good point in this case, which I’ve read will be the last case the IARP will handle as it is being shut down after it’s done with its current caseload. It appears the NCAA is not happy with the IARP being soooo independent, as well as with it taking so long to close cases.
The bottom line to hopefully ease the concerns of fans like replay is that both the soon to be defunct IARP and the NCAA leadership have publicly stated they do not want to punish current student-athletes for past program transgressions. Assuming they really mean it, post-season bans should be very rare in the future, and unlikely for KU in this case (IMO largely because there is no evidentiary case to begin with, and the federal court case cleared KU of any wrongdoing).
I’ll just be glad when this is all over with…
