Classes have started and that means college basketball is inching inexorably closer. There are a few changes in Div 1 this season as always.
-- There are 5 new Division 1 teams making a total of 363
-- 20 teams have changed conferences
-- 60 teams have new coaches
-- California still leads with 25 teams, Texas has 25, New York has 22, North Carolina has 19 and Pennsylvania has 14, Florida, Illinois and Ohio each have 13 and Louisiana, South Carolina and Tennessee each have 12.
-- Alaska is the only state without a Div 1 team. and Wyoming, Hawaii, Vermont and Maine each have only 1 Div 1 team.
